Overview

StepUp is a fitness and activity tracking application.

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how StepUp may access, collect, process, store, and use information when you use the App, including health and fitness information, motion data, location information, profile information, activity information, and other information required to provide StepUp's features.

By using StepUp, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Access or Process

The information StepUp accesses or processes depends on the features you use and the permissions you choose to grant.

Health and Fitness Data

With your permission, StepUp may access certain health and fitness information available through Apple HealthKit, including step count, walking and running distance, active energy, and flights climbed.

This information may be used to provide daily step tracking, activity progress, fitness goals, activity summaries, progress statistics, streaks, achievements, and fitness trends.

StepUp only accesses Health information after you grant the appropriate permissions through iOS. You may deny access to Health information or change your Health permissions at any time through Apple's Health app or your device settings.

Motion & Fitness Data

StepUp may request access to Apple's Motion & Fitness functionality.

Motion information may be used for step tracking, movement detection, activity tracking, fitness progress, and related activity calculations.

You can deny or revoke Motion & Fitness permission through your device settings. Some StepUp features may not function correctly if this permission is disabled.

Location and GPS Data

StepUp may request access to your device location when you use features that require location services.

Location information may include current location, latitude and longitude, GPS accuracy, movement speed, heading, altitude or elevation, location timestamps, and recorded activity routes.

Location information may be used to track outdoor activities, record walking or running routes, calculate activity distance, display your location on a map, display completed activity routes, process routes, provide destination or navigation-related functionality, determine GPS accuracy, and support location-based fitness features.

StepUp does not access your location unless appropriate permission has been granted. You may disable or change location permissions at any time through your device settings. Some activity-tracking and map features may not work correctly without location permission.

Activity Information

When you use StepUp, the App may create, calculate, process, or store activity-related information such as activity type, activity start time, activity completion time, activity duration, paused duration, step count, distance, pace, speed, estimated calories, elevation, activity route, activity history, daily activity progress, goals, streaks, achievements, and badges.

This information is used to provide StepUp's fitness and activity-tracking functionality.

Profile Information

If you use profile functionality, StepUp may process information that you choose to provide, including display name, profile image, profile preferences, fitness statistics, and activity information associated with your profile.

You are responsible for information that you voluntarily choose to make visible through StepUp's community or profile features.

Community Information

If StepUp provides community, leaderboard, social feed, comment, reaction, or activity-sharing functionality, information associated with those features may be processed.

This may include community posts, shared activities, comments, likes, reactions, leaderboard participation, display name, profile image, and shared fitness statistics.

Information that you intentionally publish or share through community features may be visible to other StepUp users. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information through public areas of the App.

Photos

If you choose to add or change your profile photo, StepUp may request permission to access photos on your device.

Photo access is used only to allow you to select an image for features that require it, such as your profile picture. StepUp does not require photo access for normal step-tracking functionality.

Notifications

StepUp may request permission to send notifications.

Notifications may include activity reminders, step-goal reminders, daily progress, streak reminders, achievement notifications, community activity, and important App information.

If enabled, certain technical information such as a push-notification token may be processed to deliver notifications to your device. You may disable notifications at any time through your device settings.

Device and Technical Information

StepUp or service providers used by StepUp may process limited technical information required to operate and maintain the App.

This may include device type, operating system, App version, IP address, network information, device or installation identifiers, request timestamps, diagnostic information, and error information.

This information may be used for security, troubleshooting, reliability, and operation of the App.

How We Use Information

Information processed through StepUp may be used to track steps, track physical activity, display daily fitness progress, record outdoor activities, calculate distance, calculate pace and speed, estimate calories, display activity history, maintain goals, maintain streaks, provide badges and achievements, display maps, record and display activity routes, provide location-based functionality, operate community features, operate leaderboards, maintain user profiles, send notifications requested or enabled by you, synchronize supported information, protect StepUp against misuse or abuse, diagnose technical problems, maintain App reliability, improve App functionality, and respond to support requests.

Health Data Protection

Health and fitness information is sensitive. StepUp uses HealthKit information only for health, activity, fitness, and wellness functionality.

StepUp does not sell HealthKit information, sell health information, sell fitness information to data brokers, use HealthKit information for targeted advertising, use HealthKit information to create advertising profiles, or provide HealthKit information to advertising networks for advertising purposes.

HealthKit information is processed only when necessary to provide features requested by the user and as permitted under Apple's requirements and applicable law.

Location Data Protection

Location information is used only when required for features that depend on location services.

For example, outdoor activity tracking may require GPS information to record an activity route and calculate distance.

StepUp may use third-party mapping or routing providers to provide map, routing, geocoding, or geographic functionality.

StepUp does not sell your precise location information to advertisers or data brokers.

Third-Party Services

StepUp may use third-party services to provide certain functionality.

Depending on the version of StepUp and the features you use, these may include Apple services for HealthKit, Motion & Fitness, location permissions, device permissions, push notifications, and other iOS platform functionality.

Google Firebase services may be used for cloud infrastructure, database functionality, user information, community functionality, profile information, file or image storage, push notification infrastructure, and backend services.

Google Maps technology may be used to display maps or provide geographic functionality. Mapbox services may be used for mapping, routing, route processing, route matching, and other location-related functionality.

Some geographic functionality may use OpenStreetMap information or other map and tile providers.

Third-party providers may process limited information necessary to provide their services. Their handling of information is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

Advertising and Tracking

StepUp does not use HealthKit or Motion & Fitness information for advertising.

StepUp does not sell HealthKit information, activity information, or precise location information to advertising networks or data brokers.

If StepUp introduces advertising, analytics, or additional tracking technologies in the future, this Privacy Policy and applicable privacy disclosures will be updated where required.

Data Storage and Retention

Some information may be stored locally on your device. This may include App preferences, activity history, fitness progress, goals, profile settings, and other information necessary to operate StepUp.

Information associated with online or community features may also be stored through cloud infrastructure such as Firebase.

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide StepUp, maintain functionality requested by users, maintain security, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and meet applicable legal requirements.

Data Deletion

You may be able to remove certain information directly through StepUp.

Locally stored information may also be removed when the App is deleted from your device, subject to operating-system behavior and cloud-synchronized information.

If StepUp stores information associated with you through an online service, you may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of applicable personal information at hello@fusionbyte.studio.

We will review valid requests and take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize applicable information where technically and legally possible.

Certain information may need to be retained when required for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, or dispute resolution.

Your Privacy Choices

You control many of StepUp's permissions through your device.

Depending on the features you use, you can control access to Health, Motion & Fitness, Location, Photos, and Notifications through Apple's Settings and privacy controls.

If you revoke a permission, functionality that depends on that permission may become unavailable.

Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through StepUp.

However, no electronic storage, software system, network, or transmission method can guarantee complete security.

You are responsible for keeping your device and any account credentials secure.

Children's Privacy

StepUp is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children below the minimum age permitted under applicable law without any required parental or guardian consent.

International Data Processing

Third-party providers used by StepUp may operate servers or infrastructure outside your country or region.
