Privacy Policy for ScanX
Last updated: July 13, 2026
Overview
ScanX helps users scan, import, enhance, organize, save, export, and share documents. This Privacy Policy explains how information may be collected, used, processed, stored, and protected when you use the app.
Camera Access
ScanX may request camera permission so you can scan documents.
Camera access is used only to capture documents and provide scanning features inside the app. ScanX does not continuously record through your camera in the background.
Photos and Files
ScanX may request access to selected photos, images, files, or device storage when you choose to import a document or image, save a scanned document, create or export a PDF, access previously saved files, or share or process selected content.
We do not intentionally access photos or files unless you select, import, create, save, or process them through the app.
Document Content
Documents processed through ScanX may contain text, images, names, addresses, contact details, financial information, identification information, or other data selected by you.
You are responsible for the documents you scan, import, save, export, or share and for ensuring you have permission to process them.
OCR and Extracted Text
ScanX may use optical character recognition or other automated processing to identify and extract text from documents.
Extracted information may include names, dates, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, document titles, receipt information, or other text visible in the selected document.
This information is processed only to provide the feature you request.
Local Storage
Documents and application data may be stored locally on your device.
Locally stored information generally remains on your device unless you choose to export it, share it, upload it, synchronize it, or use a feature that requires remote processing.
Deleting ScanX, clearing application data, or resetting your device may permanently remove locally stored documents.
Information We Collect
Depending on the features you use, we may collect or process information you provide directly, documents and images you select, extracted document text, account information where accounts are available, subscription and purchase status, technical device information, app settings and preferences, usage information, crash reports, diagnostics and performance information, customer-support communications, and information required to provide core app functionality.
Apple or another applicable app store processes payment information. We do not directly receive or store your complete payment-card details.
How We Use Information
We may use information to operate ScanX, provide scanning, editing, OCR, PDF, export, and sharing features, save or synchronize documents where supported, manage subscriptions and premium access, improve performance and reliability, troubleshoot technical issues, prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access, support application security, respond to user requests, comply with applicable laws, enforce our Terms, and protect legal rights.
We do not use the contents of scanned documents for unrelated advertising.
Permissions
ScanX may request permissions such as camera, photos, files or device storage, notifications, network access, biometric authentication, or other device permissions required by a feature you choose to use.
You can manage or revoke permissions through your device settings. Some ScanX features may not work when a required permission is disabled.
Third-Party Services
ScanX may use trusted third-party services for analytics, crash reporting, cloud hosting or storage, authentication, payments, subscriptions, OCR processing, artificial-intelligence processing, security, customer support, and application infrastructure.
These services may process limited information according to their own privacy practices.
When a selected feature requires remote document processing, the necessary document, image, or extracted text may be securely transmitted to the relevant service provider.
Sharing at Your Direction
ScanX may allow you to export, print, save, or share documents through third-party applications and services.
Information may be shared when you choose to send a document to another person, save a file to cloud storage, open a file in another application, print a document, or use your device’s sharing tools.
Once content leaves ScanX, it may be handled according to the privacy practices of the service or recipient you selected.
Analytics and Diagnostics
ScanX may process limited analytics, crash, and diagnostic information to identify errors, monitor performance, improve features, and maintain security.
This information may include your device type, operating-system version, app version, feature usage, crash logs, installation identifier, and performance information.
We do not intentionally include the contents of scanned documents in analytics or crash reports.
Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as needed to provide ScanX, deliver requested features, resolve technical or support issues, maintain security, prevent fraud or abuse, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations.
Locally stored documents remain on your device until you delete them, clear application data, reset your device, or uninstall ScanX.
Information stored by third-party services may be retained according to their applicable privacy and retention practices.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for protecting your device, account credentials, exported files, backups, and any third-party storage accounts you use.
Sale of Personal Information
We do not sell or rent personal information.
We do not use scanned-document contents to create advertising profiles or track users across unrelated apps and websites for targeted advertising.
Children’s Privacy
ScanX is not intended for children under the minimum age required by applicable law.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through ScanX, contact us so we can review the matter and take appropriate action.
Your Choices
You may stop using ScanX, delete documents stored inside the app, delete local application data, adjust device permissions, disable optional features, cancel subscriptions through the applicable app store, or contact us with privacy-related questions or requests.
Deleting ScanX does not automatically cancel an active subscription.
Account and Data Deletion
Where ScanX provides an account or cloud-storage feature, you may request deletion of your account and associated information by contacting hello@fusionbyte.studio.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Some limited information may be retained where required for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, transaction records, dispute resolution, or enforcement of agreements.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy of personal information associated with you.
You may also have the right to withdraw consent or submit a complaint to an applicable privacy authority.
