We collect minimal information necessary to operate and improve the App:

a) Image Data (OCR Feature)

When you use the OCR (Optical Character Recognition) feature, you may choose to upload a photo or image from your device. This image is:

  • Temporarily processed to extract text content
  • Not stored on our servers after processing is complete
  • Never used for any purpose other than delivering your requested OCR result
  • Never shared with third parties except the AI service processing the request

b) Usage Data

  • Queries and prompts you submit to the AI (not linked to any personal identity)
  • Features you use within the App (e.g., Voice Chat, Web Search, OCR)
  • Device type, operating system version, and app version
  • Crash reports and anonymous performance diagnostics

c) Voice Data

If you use the Voice Chat feature, your voice input is temporarily processed to convert speech to text. We do not store raw voice recordings after conversion.

d) Technical Data

  • Anonymous device identifiers
  • IP address (used only for rate limiting and security purposes)
  • Log data and session information

We do not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, date of birth, or location.

3. How We Use Information

The limited information we collect is used solely for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and improve the App and its features
  • To process your queries and deliver AI-generated responses
  • To process uploaded images for OCR text extraction
  • To monitor and analyse anonymous usage patterns to improve performance
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical issues or misuse

4. Third-Party AI Models

Smart AI uses advanced third-party AI models to power its core functionality. Your prompts, queries, and uploaded images are transmitted to these third-party services solely for processing your request. These services operate under their own privacy policies.

We do not sell your data to these providers, and we only share the minimum information necessary to deliver your requested response. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party AI providers integrated into the App.

5. Image and Photo Access

The App requests access to your device camera or photo library only when you choose to use the OCR feature. Specifically:

  • Camera and photo access is requested on-demand, not at app launch
  • Images are used only for the OCR operation you initiate
  • Images are not stored, indexed, or used to build profiles
  • You can revoke camera and photo permissions at any time in your device settings

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent any information to third parties. We may share anonymised technical data only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: Trusted third-party vendors who assist us in operating the App (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics), bound by confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal Obligations: When required by applicable law, court order, or governmental authority in Pakistan or internationally.
  • Safety: When necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Smart AI, our users, or the public.

7. Data Retention

Since we do not collect personal information, there is no personal data to retain. Anonymous usage logs and crash reports are retained for a maximum of 90 days and then automatically deleted. Images uploaded for OCR processing are deleted immediately after the result is returned to your device.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect all data processed through the App. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit using industry-standard protocols (TLS/HTTPS)
  • Immediate deletion of uploaded images after processing
  • Access controls limiting who can view diagnostic data

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s Privacy

Smart AI is not intended for children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect personal information, we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you are a parent or guardian with concerns, please contact us.

10. Your Rights

Since Smart AI does not collect personally identifiable information, most data rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) do not apply in the traditional sense. However, you may:

  • Contact us to inquire about what anonymous technical data, if any, may be associated with your device

11. Cookies and Tracking

The App does not use cookies. We may use anonymous, non-identifying analytics tools to understand general usage patterns. These tools do not track you personally or link usage data to any individual.
